SANBI’s KwaZulu-Natal National Botanical Garden in Pietermaritzburg has been chosen to host the 54th Art in the Park in May 2016 as part of a partnership between the SANBI Garden and Msunduzi Pietermaritzburg Tourism Association. The event had previously been held in Alexander Park.
The Art in the Park exhibition will take place on the Garden’s famous Plane Tree Avenue, with music events staged on the Garden’s lawns. The art exhibition will run from 4 – 8 May 2016.
“As SANBI we are pleased and proud that one of our National Botanical Gardens, KwaZulu-Natal NBG, is to be the new home for Art in the Park. This is a great partnership cementing two key tourism stakeholders relationship thus putting the KwaZulu-Natal NBG on the map and affording the two stakeholders leveraging opportunities and a long term partnership”, said SANBI Director of Marketing and Communication, Lihle Dlamini.
