The Green Building Council South Africa leads the transformation of the South African property industry to ensure that buildings are designed, built and operated in an environmentally sustainable way.Buildings are one of the main contributors to climate change. Building green is no longer a “nice to have” but an absolute imperative to use resources efficiently and address the impacts of climate change while creating healthier and more productive environments for people and communities.
The dialogue at the Green Building Convention 2016 will be led by change agents who have the expertise to guide Africa and the world towards a thriving future for all. In their experience and their ideas lie the solutions – some outrageous and some exquisite in their simplicity, but all revolutionary in their power to affect positive change and build a better world now.
Our modern life is rooted in the way we have designed our buildings, cities and the infrastructure around us. Climate change, globalisation, increasing competitiveness, resource depletion, pollution and connectivity have forced us to look at innovative solutions that benefit both humans and the planet.
