READY… STEADY… ARRANGE!

Could you be the first South African MasterFlorist™ Winner?

The Cape Town Flower Show takes place from Thursday 27th–Sunday 30th October 2016 at The Castle of Good Hope, in the centre of Cape Town. At the show, a brand new floral competition is being launched.   Amateur, semi-professional and professional florists and floral artists will be given the opportunity to show their skill and design flair in the first-ever South African MasterFlorist™ competition. Do you think you have what it takes?

Entries for Round One are open from Friday 1 July 2016 – Sunday 31 July 2016 and can be submitted online here.   From the entries, 20 competitors will then be selected for Round Two and the final 12 contestants will then battle it out in a daily competition held on each day of the Cape Town Flower Show.   Contestants will be put through their paces, as they are presented with a new themed elimination challenge.   At the end of each daily challenge, contestants will be judged by a panel of floral experts and media when three competitors will then be eliminated.  The final challenge on Sunday 30th October is not to be missed when the final three florists battle it out for the ultimate prize of R20 000 and the title of South African MasterFlorist™ Winner 2016.

TV personality and floral communication expert, Jill Manson, will be MC during the MasterFlorist™ challenges, keeping the audience entertained and the contestants on their toes.  Jill will be holding an inspiring floral workshop on Saturday afternoon, 29 October at the show. (Tickets can be purchased on Computicket).

Curator of the Floral Theatre at the Cape Town Flower Show, Alwijn Burger or Blomboy, who is well known in the SA floristry world.  “The Cape Town Flower Show will help to reintroduce flowers into our lives, not as a luxury but as a daily necessity. My motivation as the Floral Theatre Project Manager is to showcase the trend for cut-flowers that is currently sweeping the world. Flowers are about culture and civilization and we can create our own panache and style with floral arrangements within our homes. The Flower Show will, through the MasterFlorist™ competition, also highlight the country’s top floral artists and designers.”
