The Landscape department of the Universidad Católica de Córdoba (Argentina), together with the Latin American Landscape Initiative (LALI) —in the framework of the World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM) — summon professionals or amateurs to the visual arts, illustration or design in all its fields, to participate in THE LANDSCAPE THROUGH MY WINDOW artistic competition.
In this pandemic circumstance that crosses the world, it is proposed to reflect on “the landscape in the times of the coronavirus” (COVID-19), through images that allow us to express the situation we are going through. The objective is to provide a space to express and share our landscapes from the condition of confinement (physical, mental, emotional), within the framework of this global health crisis, in connection with the environment in which each person lives, from a landscape perspective and with an environmental projection.
People of legal age and of any nationality may participate individually and with a maximum of 2 proposals (submitted separately).
The works will be presented in digital images of 1000 x 1000 pixels at a resolution of 150dpi. The elaboration techniques are free and the support format must be square (although the representation does not necessarily occupy the entire support). Each proposal must be accompanied by a short text that explains the work, with a maximum of 150 words (Failure to comply with any of the conditions set will prevent participation in the contest).
The works and the text must be sent through the following link: https://forms.gle/KbL7rhUY3Ma4EgMs8 Full name of author, city and country of residence must be included. En simultaneo, la imagen y el texto debe publicarse en su perfil de la red Instagram incluyendo @institutodelpaisaje_ucc y @laliniciativa and the #xmaspaisaje (Failure to comply with any of the conditions set will prevent participation in the contest).
You can participate throughout the month of April 2020, until 23:00 on April 30, Argentina time.
A group of specialist professionals will act as a jury and will select up to 50 papers and up to 10 finalists from the total number of applications that meet the established guidelines. The possibility of the jury establishing special mentions for the selected works is contemplated. The results will be announced during the month of May 2020 and the jury’s decision will be final. Each selected participant and finalist will receive a digital certificate for their participation and distinction in the framework of this contest (no type of economic or material remuneration will be granted). The 50 selected works will be included in the edition of a digital book, edited by the Landscape Institute together with the Latin American Landscape Initiative. The mere participation in the contest grants authorization to the organizing entities for the diffusion, in diverse media and supports, of the proposed works and the respective identity of the authors.
